Bubble living 2021

Bubble is now the new age word. It is our protective coating that keeps harm away. We have moved from bubble wrap to protective bubble in such a short time frame. It all started with the Boy in the Plastic Bubble or Bubble Boy as he was called. Now we are the Bubble People, with Bubble Buddies We have had Bubble Baths, Bubble Rock, Investment Bubble, Economic Bubble, Bubble Media, Dotcom Bubble and the Trans-Tasman Bubble. Most have come and gone, some bubbles have burst but what about our bubble. It is nice to feel a modicum of safety, surrounded by a world that looks and feels the same. There is conformity in a bubble. A bubble becomes a safe haven. A comfort zone. BUT when you live in a bubble for too long you start to look at the world through rose tinted glasses. You start to see everything with a sameness. Too long in a bubble restricts your ability to grow, to innovate, to think creatively. I love working collaboratively, sharing ideas, brainstorming, laughing at silly jokes with work colleagues. Surely that is reason enough to look beyond our bubbles, look forward to a time when we pop the bubble!
